Cydonia: Chapter Sixteen: The Return of the Golden Age

Mundus vult decipi, ergo decepiatur. (The world wants to be fooled, this it is fooled.) Plato's Timaeus described the island of Atlantis, said to have existed west of the Pillars of Hercules and opposite Mt. Atlas. The 19 century Theosophic mystery school called this land Poseidonis, th which was said to have sank beneath the waves c.9,564 B.C. This last remnant in the Atlantic Ocean of the vast Atlantean continent was said by ancient Mediterranean writers such as Plato to have been approximately the size of Ireland and, due to the wickedness of its otherwise highly civilized inhabitants, [1047] to have been swallowed up and submerged by the ocean in a night and a day. Significantly the name Plato means "strong shoulders"; Atlas the Titan king of Atlantis supported the pillars of heaven and earth on his own strong shoulders. It is no coincidence that the first story of [1048] Atlantis is only found in one work, Plato's Republic. Plato's story of Atlantis is the best known of the "invisible lands," exemplifying the Gnostic mystery school's idyll of a utopian golden age which will some day rise from whence it sank. Atlantis "sank" during the sunteleia of the alignment of Ouroboros 12,500 years ago at the boundary between the Pleistocene and Holocene geological eras. This geological boundary was marked by global [1049] die-offs consistent with catastrophic flooding. Godfrey Higgins in his work Anacalypsis makes the connection between Atlantis's ringed design and the Ouroborol alignment that occurred during the deluge: Ilavratta, Id-avratta, or Ararat, or Mount Meru, of the Indians, was surrounded with seven belts of land, and seven seas, and, beyond them, by one much greater, called the Ocean. The Mount, with its seven belts in the form of an ellipse, was a type of the planets in their elliptic orbits--with the sun, the seat of the generative principle in their centre, all floating in the ocean or firmament. The whole was represented by the Lotus, swimming in the water; …or an Argha-polis, or Arco- polis, or acropolis, and seven other hills, and surrounded with seven districts, and one larger than the others, [1050] called oceanus. Atlantis and Arcadia represented the civilizations on earth before the deluge. Arcadia was the obsession of many initiates throughout history, embodying that which was lost and destroyed by the deluge. Mystery school symbolism inundates the following account of Lycidas, by the Greek poet Theocritus (c. 300-260 B.C.): …we met a traveler, a worthy Cydonian man, Lycidas by name. A goatherd was he, nor could one mistake the fact, for he was exceedingly like a goatherd to see… . I said, "Lycidas, friend, all men say that you are the best piper by far among reapers and herdsmen, and this certainly cheers my heart, and yet I rather think that I am equally skilled…" Cunningly I spoke, and the goatherd smiled sweetly and said, "I'll make you a gift of this olive club since you are a shoot fashioned all for truth by father Zeus--but see if it pleases you, this song which I composed on the mountainside but yesterday… once the wide coffer enclosed the goatherd alive by the wicked shamelessness of a king. Virgil also wrote of the myth of Arcadia, describing the character Lycidas as mourned through song but living in a heavenly realm, sunk not by the storm but by the flaws in his boat. The name Lycidas was derived from Greek lukos (wolf), and idas (son of). Apollo was himself born of a wolf--the metamorphosed mother of apollo, Leto. Apollo was the god of prophecy, medicine and poetry, skills also held by Hermes/ Mercury/ Thoth. Apollo was a skilled archer with the credit of being the first victor of the Olympian Games. Diana the hunter, (Sidonian) was Apollo's twin sister. Her symbol was the stag which was the inspiration for the stag statue built at Rhodes after the Colossus of Helios fell. The connection between the illuminator and the shepherds of Arcadia was reinforced with the words of Plato: "When, on the other hand, the gods purge the earth with a deluge of water, the survivors in your country are herdsmen and shepherds who dwell on the mountains." Timaeus John Milton, author of Paradise Lost, incorporated the theme of a flood and the lycanthropic character named Lycidas (wolf) in A Lament for a friend drowned in his passage from Chester on the Irish Seas (1637): Weep no more, woful Shepherds weep no more, For Lycidas your sorrow is not dead, Sunk though he be beneath the watry floar, So sinks the day-star in the Ocean bed, And yet anon repairs his drooping head, And tricks his beams, and with new spangled Ore, Flames in the forehead of the morning sky: So Lycidas sunk low, but mounted high, Through the dear might of him that walk'd the waves Where other groves, and other streams along, With Nectar pure his oozy Lock's he laves, And hears the unexpressive nuptiall Song, In the blest Kingdoms meek of joy and love.There entertain him all the Saints above, In solemn troops, and sweet Societies That sing, and singing in their glory [1051] move, And wipe the tears for ever from his eyes. The wolf represented the mystery religion of Isis (Gnostic Eve), anchored by Sirius the dog-star. According to the Gnostic mystery schools, the Cydonian shepherd was the cherub whose power founded their religion, and created the lineage of the first son of Lucifer, Cain, the child raised by the wolf. This angel is only called Lucifer in Isaiah 14: How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! [how] art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. The translation of the word llyh heylel as "Lucifer" appears only in certain older translations of [1052] [1053] Isaiah. Halal is a verb meaning to praise, glory, to boast or shine. The well-known, modern-day exclamation halleluyah hyllh is the combination of this word, with part of the ineffable name of God attatched to it, meaning "to praise God." The Syriac Old Testament and the version of Aquila Old Testament derive the Hebrew noun helel llyh "light-bearer," from the verb yalal, lly "to lament"; St. Jerome agrees with them (in Isaiah 1:14), and makes Lucifer the name of the principal fallen angel who must lament the loss of his original glory. [1054] The Syriac or "Aramaic," version of the Old Testament including both the Syriac and the Chaldee was made early in the second century AD. It was made directly from the original Hebrew text, and not from the LXX Septuagint Greek translation of the Old Testament. It contained all the canonical books, along with some Apocryphal books. As the women of Egypt wept for Osiris, as the Phoenician and Assyrian women wept for Tammuz, so in Greece and Rome the women wept for Bacchus, whose name meant "the bewailed," or "lamented one." The early Canaanite god Baal "the lord" was combined with the Chaldee word Bakhah ,"to weep" or "lament" in the place name for the greatest megaliths yet discovered on earth in Baal-bek Lebanon [1055] formerly known as Sidonia. The original version of the lament for the Cydonian wolf is found in the Old Testament, Ezekiel 28:12-19: Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty. Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone [was] thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee. Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee. All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more. Immediately after the cherub's lament, Ezekiel documented a judgment against Cydon: Son of man, set thy face against Sidon, and prophesy against it, And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Zidon; and I will be glorified in the midst of thee: and they shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall have executed judgments in her, and shall be sanctified in her. For I will send into her pestilence, and blood into her streets; and the wounded shall be judged in the midst of her by the sword upon her on every side; and they shall know that I am the LORD. Ezekiel 28:20-23 Paradoxically the incredible monuments on Mars that will lead humanity to believe themselves the progeny of an extraterrestrial race were built in the beginning to worship God. The understanding of this architectural worship, created by angels who had not yet rebelled, is the means by which God will be" Glorified in the midst of thee." The mystery schools of Gnosticism advocate rebellion against the "god who would keep man in darkness." With the advent of the new millennium and the advances in understanding secret doctrine it is apparent that a key point in man's development has been arrived at once again. This time the illumined seek to re-awaken the so-called collective consciousness of mankind to the fact that there was a "Golden Age" and that it is nearly within the grasp of those worthy elite once again. In the Gnostic tradition, the elite believe that the Archon will become jealous once again and try to destroy mankind in his quest for the knowledge of the lost golden age. The culmination of this belief will be what the Bible has called the battle between good and evil--with the Gnostic twist on the characters involved. Despite the end time lie perpetrated by the minions of the lying cherub and those who worship him as the Angel of Light, the God of the Bible has already declared how this conflict will end. According to Plutarch and the Neoplatonists, Sirius is the key to the "lost" knowledge embodied in Osiris. Osiris was the "father god" who was killed by his twin Set. Osiris's body was initially put into an ark intact, which floated to the city of Byblos on the coast of Sidonia. This represented the pre-Flood "body of knowledge" coming to rest at Sidonia, and, more importantly, it was from Sidonia that the pre- Flood knowledge was disseminated after the Flood. The Sidonians were the children of Noah. The name Byblos is from the same root as the name for the Bible, leading mystery schools to teach that only the properly initiated can interpret the secrets of the Bible. Ancient foundation myths chronicle the influence of rebel angels throughout mankind's history. Before the suntelia corresponding to Noah's Flood, the Cosmic Clock of the Ouroboros in the heavens --indicated by the Cydonian archer Sagittarius--delineated the age when the Greek Titans would no longer rule. The impending sign of the suntelia told the elder Titans and their ruler Cronus that time was almost up; in myth Cronus began the Ouroboros-like activity of devouring his own offspring. Cronus himself knew that the former gods could successfully be overthrown. Cronus had castrated his father Ouronos, throwing the phallus into the ocean from which arose the embodiment of Isis, Aphrodite. The Egyptians commemorated in myth the ending of the age of the Elder gods, as symbolized by the death of Osiris. Isis had found the lost body of Osiris intact in Sidonian Byblos and brought him back to Egypt, symbolizing the consolidation of Sidonian knowledge in the Egyptian religion once again. The evil serpentine twin of Osiris Set found the body and dismembered it--scattering it at the suntelia corresponding to the Tower of Babel, in which the languages were confused and knowledge spread with populations across the earth. The Olympian gods were scattered during that suntelia as well, being commemorated in the myths of dismembered deities like Dionysus and the "dark eyed" Pelops. The names of deities, like Pallas Athene, and the deity Pales (whose feast day was on the day of Rome's founding), preserve the memory that something was divided and scattered at the last suntelia. The phallus was the regenerative part; in myth the "missing" phallus is also an arrow. This arrow represents the celestial marker of Sagittarius who points out the mouth of the Ouroboros. In the precession of the Equinox, the Titan's age began in Gemini, the name of the twin Castor commemorating the castrated god Ouronos. The Olympian age began with the suntelia of the Flood, and the sign of Leo. Osiris was dismembered, and the knowledge that went into the building of the Tower of Babel was scattered, during the age of Taurus-- where Orion, the constellation of Osiris resides. The age of Christ began at Pisces, the fish that swallowed the phallus. It is now "just as the days of Noah," and the Ouroborus is once again encircling the earth with the sign of the suntelia being pointed out by Sagittarius. The age we are presently living in is Aquarius. The arrow or phallus of regeneration will be found and the age of the gods will be resurrected, according to the mystery schools. Both the arrow and the archer--the Cydonian Sagittarius or Nergal--represent Mars, the sought after Philosopher's Stone. "Enyalios" is the earliest name yet discovered for the god of Mars. This is the ancient Cydonian name for the god Ares of the Greeks. Enyalius is a name found in the Linear B tablets from Knossos in which divinities were mentioned in contexts dealing with offerings made to them--dated at approximately [1056] the 14 to the 12 C. B.C. th th Linear B, the ancient script found initially at Knossos in central Crete, was first deciphered by a British architect Michael G. Ventris, and John Chadwick in 1952. Later, it was [1057] also found in the centers of Mycenaen civilization on the Greek mainland. This name from Crete continued in usage from the Mycaenean civilization to Greece and eventually to Rome. Enyalius the proto-Ares continued to be used in Sparta in Greece in the 8 century B.C. The th Romans adopted a female form of Enyalios, Enyo who became the consort of Mars in battle. Enyo was also known as one of the offspring of the serpentine Titans Phorkys and Keto. She and two other sisters were known as the Graiai, (literally, the Grays). Hesiod wrote: "they were born with fair faces and were gray from birth, and were gods who are immortal and men call Graiai, the gray sisters, Pemphredo robed in beauty and Enyo robed in saffron."--Hesiod's Theogony 270-273. The Graiai were the guardians of the forged works of the Cyclops and similarly shared a single eye between them. They like the earliest gods knew the secret places of the earth and shared the characteristics of their parents, namely the single eye of the Ouroboros or, symbolically, the round orb of heaven that joined with earth. The parents of the Graiai, Phorkys and Keto, also produced the serpent Ladon who guarded the golden Cydonian fruit in the garden of Atlas. In myth Enyo, the female aspect of Ares/Enyalius, was also called Eris, (discord). True to her name, Eris had a disagreeable nature and so was the only one of the gods not to receive an invitation to the wedding of Peleus and Thetis. In spite of this she came nevertheless, and was refused admittance. Furious, she threw a golden quince, inscribed, "To the fairest" among the guests knowing that every goddess would claim it. In order to settle the ensuing dispute Paris was asked to judge among them. The name "Paris" refers to both the Hebrew word for the fruit of the tree of knowledge and the Greek name of the planet Mars. Eris's discord set the stage for the eventual founding of Rome by Anaeus after Troy's fall. In this light the Grays were initially responsible for the creation of Rome, and the pattern for modern civilization. Perhaps the Grays are still molding and shaping civilization. Interestingly, the most popularly depicted alien known in modern ufology is known as the "gray" due to its monochrome skin. The gods of today are the same as the gods of antiquity. They are the "extraterrestrials." They are the "watchers" spoken of in the Book of Enoch and the Old Testament of the Bible. They are the angels under the rule of that "old serpent" called Satan. The motivation of these alien gods has remained the same since before the creation of Adam in the Garden of Eden. Ancient man recognized the malevolent nature of the rebellious "Watchers": I saw Watchers in my vision, the dream-vision. Two (men) were fighting over me, saying… and holding a great contest over me. I asked them, "Who are you, that you are thus empowered over me?" They answered me, "We have been empowered and rule over all mankind." They said to me, "Which of us do you choose to rule (you)?" I raised my eyes and looked. One of them was terrifying in his appearance, like a serpent, [his] cloak many-colored yet very dark… And I looked again, and… in his appearance, his visage like a viper, and wearing… exceedingly, and all his eyes… I replied to him, "This Watcher, so is he?" He answered me, "This Watcher… and his three names are Belial and Prince of Darkness and King of Evil." Testament of Amram (4Q535, Manuscript B) The most notable theurgists of modern times claimed to be in contact with angels. Of these one of the most famous, Aleister Crowley, claimed to have contacted what he called Enochian entities. Crowley described these interdimensional beings as possessing the physical descriptions that fit the "Gray" aliens known in ufology. Edward Alexander (Aleister) Crowley, born 1875 in Leamington Spa, England, claimed contact with angelic entities using Enochian magic, a magical language discovered and used by [1058] John Dee, magician to the court of Queen Elizabeth. Dr. John Dee's De Heptarchia Mystica was the book used and elaborated on by the founders of the Golden Dawn and Crowley. This text contained detailed instructions for communicating with rebellious angels and employing their aid for practical purposes. It also described details of Dee's magical workings similar to the records published by Meric Casaubon (as A True and Faithful Relation of what [1059] passed for many years between Dr. John Dee … and some spirits, 1659.) Modern Societies of the Mysteries A student of Crowley's work in the 1920's was Dietrich Eckart, the occultic mentor of Adolf Hitler. Eckart was also a committed occultist and a master of magic. Eckart belonged to the inner circle of the mystery school called the Thule Society, as well as other esoteric orders. Eckart used Crowley and Dee's ritual magick to prepare Hitler for his occultic destiny of ruling the "Aryan race" and ultimately the [1060] world. The Thule Society was founded during the First World War by Rudolf Freiherr von Sebottendorff, who enlisted 250 members in München and another 1,500 elsewhere in Bavaria. Among the members [1061] were journalists, poets, professors, and Army officers. The Thule society was an offshoot of the Germanenorder [Germanic order] whose base was in Berlin and whose branches throughout Germany were patterned after the Masonic lodges. The society was devoted to extreme nationalism, race mysticism, occultism, and anti-Semitism. The society received its name from Thule, in Nordic mythology the legendary kingdom believed to be the origin of the ancient Germanic peoples. The Roman historian Polybius (ca. 150 B.C.) made first mention of such an "island, or point of land, six day's sail north of Orcades" [Orkneys, Britain] observed [1062] during a voyage by Pytheas in the late-4th Century B.C. Thule served as the recruiting and political action front of the Germananorden. Serbottendorff (the group that created the Thule newspaper) called it the Volkische Beobachter. This later became the official newspaper of the Nazi Party. A movement to promote Thulian ideas among industrial workers and to offset Marxism, was formed in 1918--the Workers' Political Circle--with Thulist Karl Harrer as chairman. From this came the German Worker's Party in 1919. A year later this became the Nazi party, [1063] (NSDAP) under the leadership of Adolf Hitler. In 1912 Crowley was contacted by Theodore Reuss, the head of an organization based in Germany called the Ordo Templi Orientis (O.T.O.). This group of high-ranking Freemasons claimed to have discovered the supreme secret of practical magick, which was taught in its highest degrees. Crowley became a member of O.T.O. and eventually took over as head of the order when the existing head suffered a stroke in 1921. Theodore Reuss merged such mystery schools as the Egyptian Rite Masonic Orders into [1064] the OTO, associated with the Saturnian Order. The Roman Saturnalia was celebrated as a "temporary return to the golden age." In Ancient Rome, the mythical age of Saturn's kingship was a golden age of happiness for all men, without theft or servitude, and without private property. Saturn/Cronus, dethroned by his son Jupiter, had joined two- faced Janus as ruler in Italy, but when his time as earthly king was up, he disappeared. "It is said that to this day He lies in a magic sleep on a secret island near Britain, and at some future time … He will return [1065] to inaugurate another Golden Age." This abode of Saturn was alternately called "Thule" or "Avalon." The Roman poet Virgil (Vergilius) wrote his fourth Eclogue about "a great order of the ages" being born anew. Sator in Latin means "sower" and Satur means "satisfied" or "saturated" or "impregnated." 20 Saturn/Cronus of myth was the devourer of his children. This is an analogy to the idea of one age being devoured by the next in the sunteleia. Zeus escaped Saturn's wrath and was raised on Crete, the island founded by Sidonians. Zeus was the god of the Olympian age who ruled with his brothers after the destruction of the Titans during the Flood. Zeus was literally the leader of those Nephilim who survived the Flood and led the world to unite and build the tower of Babel. The names Saturn in Latin and Cronus in Greek both mean "fullness" and "time" respectively. The successor god-rulers of the "fullness of time" were the Roman Jupiter or Greek Zeus. These names mean "great father." In the Bible the "father" who carried on the godly knowledge of the Nephilim after the flood was Canaan, father of Sidon. It was Sidonia that fostered the seafarer Pelasgians who brought the mysteries to the Mediterranean islands, Greece and finally to Rome Saturnalia in Rome was also a celebration of the solstice, a feast of the returning sun. The sun is at its lowest around the 21st of December. It was the return (re-generation, re- birth) of the sun that was celebrated. The snake biting its own tail, associated with Saturn in alchemical texts, was the symbol of that re-generation. The Roman Janus personified the division between ages. [1066] Janus's two faces looked backwards to the age before and forward to the new age. Janus--the god honored by the calendar reform of Numa Pompilius, the successor of Romulus/Mars--was the gatekeeper [1067] at the entry of heaven, and considered the guardian deity of gates and doors. The temple of Janus in Rome had its doors thrown open in times of war, and closed in times of peace. They were usually open. The Emperor Augustus closed the doors of the temple, since he brought peace to the Romans. These doors remained closed for over 200 years continuously during the Pax Romana. Virgil's Aenid described "war" as being shut up within the doors of the temple of Janus, and hence released upon the world when they were opened. Virgil recorded the custom, which was common in Rome and other Latin cities, that only the King or the Consul could formally open the doors of the temple [1068] of two-faced Janus as a symbol of the declaration of war. Whenever the Milky Way aligned so that the sun rose in an equinox or solstice in the mouth of the Ouroboros, the "gates of heaven" were symbolically opened by the two-faced Sagittarius. Modern mystery schools believe that the current Ouroboral sunteleia heralds a new Golden Age that will also be ushered in by unparalleled upheaval and war. This suntelia sign, incidentally, will be visible at the winter solstice--most clearly seen from the latitude of 33 degrees. Though many members of modern mystery schools may not know of the astronomical significance of an Ouroboral alignment, they have still anticipated a new age. There are, however, some "masters" who do understand the significant sign of the suntelia. Mystery School Initiates at NASA In 1946, after the World War II, the head of the Nazi V2 missile project Herman Von Braun, and additional Nazi rocket scientists, were brought to the United States under a project run by the Office of Special Services (predecessor to the Central Intelligence Agency) known as Operation Paperclip. They were brought to White Sands Air Force Base in New Mexico to begin development of America's Space Program. Von Braun was not a reluctant Nazi, nor did he remain uninitiated in the occult theurgy of the SS and Thule societies. Membership into the Nazi party was a requirement of a scientist working for the German [1069] war, and a team led by Von Braun built Germany's first rocket. Von Braun had joined the National Socialist Aviation Corps, getting his pilot's license in 1933, the DAF trade organization, a hunting organization associated with the Nazis, the air raid protection investigation, and the SS horseback riding school. The S.S. had engaged in Thule Society rituals; an occult oath was taken by all members of the [1070] party that defined them as members of the new religion of Thule. Von Braun's own admissions in US Army records further show that he was a former SS Major who frequently visited the underground [1071] rocket factory where 25,000 prisoners from the concentration camp Dora had died. Von Braun was a former pupil of UFO enthusiast and Germany's "Father of the Space Age," Dr. Herman Oberth. In 1955, Von Braun invited Dr. Oberth to the United States under Operation Paperclip, [1072] where he worked on rockets with the Army Ballistic Missile Agency and later with NASA. In 1954, Oberth wrote about "aliens" and Mars: It is my thesis that UFO's are spaceships from another solar system. I think that they are probably manned by intelligent observers who are members of a race that may have been investigating our [1073] Earth for centuries. They are probably using Mars or another planet as a way station. Three years after arriving in the United States, Oberth retired and returned to Germany as chief of [1074] the Oberth Commission for the German Government into the UFO phenomenon. Von Braun could not help but be influenced by his mentor's research into life on Mars. One of the American scientists to work closely with Von Braun was the American occultist Jack Parsons. Jack Parsons was one of the founders of the experimental rocket research group at Cal Tech. This group's seven acre Arroyo Seco testing facility would eventually become the headquarters of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, (JPL) and the U.S. military's rocket program which evolved into NASA. Parsons was an initiate in the mystery schools. He was chosen by Aleister Crowley to lead the US branch of the Ordo Templi Orientis, the Southern California-based Agape Lodge. Crowley, the mystery school adept, held the office of 33-degree Sovereign Grand Inspector General of the Scottish Rite, among others. Jack Parsons, founder of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and chief of the organization which became NASA, had as his mentor, Aleister Crowley, advocate of ritual magic and blood sacrifice, a man who had been in contact with disembodied entities he recognized as angels. Crowley has been called "The Father of [1075] Modern Satanism." The Oath of Fealty I bind my blood in Satan's hands, All this that lieth betwixt my hands, To thee, the [1076] Beast, and thy control, I pledge me; body, mind, and soul. The Space Program had its origins in the minds of occultists and magicians--initiates in the mystery schools. John Whiteside Parsons had an interest in the occult since an early age, which surely colored his desire to pursue "rocket science" and space travel. In one of his diaries, Parsons claimed to have visibly evoked Satan when he was 13 years old. Parsons joined the O.T.O. in 1941 and was its head from 1942 to 1947. Parsons described his affiliations to occult groups in his writings: In January 1946 I had been engaged in the study and practice of magick for seven years, and in the supervision and operation of an occult lodge for four years, having been initiated into the Sanctuary [1077] of the Gnosis by the Beast 666, Fra. 132, and Fra. Saturnus. The O.T.O. believed that Palomar Mountain--the location that Hale had been told by the "green elf" in which to build his telescope--was the sexual chakra of the Earth. The local Indians of Palomar [1078] regarded the mountain as holy. Palomar in Latin means "rod of Mars," from palo "stick" (or [1079] phallus) and mar "Mars." More information on the philosophy and motivation of the founders of the Space Program can be gleaned from the writings of Jack Parsons. In a poem Parsons wrote c.1950 entitled We Are the Witchcraft, he wrote: We are the oldest organization in the world… All organizations have known us, no organization is of us; when there is too much organization we depart. We are on the side of man, of life, and of the individual. Therefore we are against religion, morality and government. Therefore our name is Lucifer. We are on the side of freedom, of love, of joy and laughter and divine drunkenness. Therefore our name is Babalon (sic)…And when that vermin of Hell that is called the Christian Church held all the West in a slavery of sin and death and terror, we, and we alone, brought hope to [1080] the heart of man, despite the dungeon and the stake. Jack Parsons worked closely with Herman Von Braun, the rocket scientist responsible for the V2 weapons program in Germany during the war. Parsons and Von Braun created the first rockets with the ability to escape the earth's gravity. Cal Tech professor Theodore Von Karman, who worked closely with Jack Parsons, was among the American scientists working with these "imported Nazi scientists." Between 1950 and 1956, Parsons and von Braun led the Army's development team at Redstone Arsenal, resulting in the Arsenal's namesake: the Redstone rocket. The planet that most interested the founders of the first Redstone team was the planet Mars. In 1947 Werner Von Braun had written the proposal "Das Mars Projekt" (Mars Project). His book [1081] included an illustration by Chesley Bonestell of the ruins of a Martian temple. Von Braun's team developed the Jupiter-C, a modified Redstone rocket. The Jupiter-C successfully launched the western hemisphere's first satellite, Explorer 1, on January 31, 1958. This event signaled the birth of America's space program. NASA was established by law on July 29, 1958. One day later, the 50th Redstone rocket was successfully fired off Johnson Island in the South Pacific as part of Project Hardtack. Though the Redstone Arsenal was developed to build boosters for United States weaponry, its ultimate purpose was to design rocket engines powerful enough to carry payloads from earth to other planets, especially Mars. Parsons worked equally hard while both developing the American Space Program, and the ritual magic that would ensure its success. Parsons believed the Enochian magick of Dr. John Dee would contact "angels" who would aid in the development of technology. Parsons wrote concerning this magic: The present age is under the influence of the force called, in magical terminology, Horus… This force is completely blind, depending upon the men and women in whom it manifests and who guide it. Obviously, its guidance now tends towards catastrophy…. This impasse is broken by the incarnation of another sort of force, called BABALON. The nature of this force relates to love, understanding, and dionysian freedom, and is the necessary counterbalance or correspondence to the manifestation of Horus… A more basic matter, however, is the indication that this force is incarnate in all men and women, and needs only to be invoked to free the spirit from the debris of the old [1082] aeon. On February 28, 1946, Jack Parsons went out into the Mojave Desert in order to invoke the beginning of the "age of the antichrist." Parsons performed the ritual with the help of another participant, La Fayette Ron Hubbard (1911-1986) the science fiction writer from Helena Montana who would eventually found the mystery school called the Church of Scientology. Through a series of magical incantations based on the Enochian language devised by Dr. John Dee, Parsons apparently channeled 77 [1083] clauses of what came to be known as his Book of Babalon. The purpose of the ritual was to produce a magickal childe--Horus or the antichrist--who would be "mightier than all the kings of the [1084] earth." Parsons, the founder of the JPL and American space program, wrote the following concering the Babalon working: And thus was I Antichrist loosed in the world; and to this I am pledged, that the work of the Beast 666 shall be fulfilled, and the way for the coming of BABALON be made open and I shall not cease [1085] or rest until these things are accomplished. Part Two: The Book of Antichrist. Both NASA and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory engaged in an intriguing early collaboration with, of all organizations, Walt Disney. In the 1950s, Dr. Von Braun was technical director for Disney-produced television films about space exploration. The final show in the series aired on December 4, 1957, and was entitled "Mars and Beyond." Von Braun and E.C. Slipher, an astronomer from the Lowell Observatory in Arizona, were consultants to Disney. The colorful media productions of Walt Disney have been called unforgettable, implanting their images in the impressionable minds of America's youth for the last two generations. The Von Braun and Disney collaborative production "Mars and Beyond" included colorful animated accounts [1086] of the legend and lore related to Mars. Von Braun's depiction of a mission to Mars was realistically portrayed. The ships would be assembled in high orbit above the earth, take a long elliptical orbit around the sun, and, upon reaching orbit around Mars, the crew would descend in "landing boats." Clearly the realism portrayed in the Disney film and Von Braun's involvement belied the true purpose of [1087] the Disney propaganda--to facilitate the space program. Mars was the target of the occult initiates involved in the early space programs of JPL and NASA. It was the Philosopher's Stone, the home of the knowledge left from the explosion of Rahab. In 1960 NASA opened the new Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama and transferred Von Braun and his development team from the ABMA at Redstone Arsenal to NASA. Dr. Von [1088] Braun was the center's first Director, from July1960 to February 1970. Interestingly enough, Huntsville had been an occult center, home to the first Masonic Helion Temple in the territory before it became a state. The meaning behind the name Alabama is said to be from the Muskogee Creek Indian word meaning "Here we rest." Experts in the Muskogee dialect, however, have [1089] been unable to find any word or phrase similar to Alabama with these meanings. Alabama, the location of NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center, seems to have been named according to theurgic principles. [1090] The Hebrew root word alah, means "to ascend" and ala in Arabic means "to be high." The word bama or bamah is defined as a Canaanite open-air shrine usually erected on an elevated site. Prior to the conquest of Canaan (Palestine) by the Israelites in the12th--11th century BC, the high places served as shrines of the Canaanite or Cydonian fertility deities, the Baals (Lords) and the Asherot (Semitic goddesses). A bama served as a cult location or special kind of altar serving as the venue for [1091] sacrificial and worship ceremonies to pagan deities. The Huntsville Redstone arsenal is located in the geographic top of a state which resembles an ancient altar, an Ala-bama, the high altar. The location for the Space Center was chosen according to theurgic practices--as the name of the state itself was chosen--due to America's location under the heavens as designed by the ancient builders of civilization. The dammed Tennessee River creates a semicircle at the top of the symbolic Ala- bama altar underlying the location of the rocket development site in Madison County. Madison means "son of the strength." In Hebrew the equivalent to Madison is benai giborah or sons of the Giborim, sons of the [1092] Nephilim. There were giants [Nephilim] in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare [children] to them, the same [became] mighty men which [were] of old, men of renown. (Genesis 6:4) The Catholic Encyclopedia defined the use of "son of strength" in the Old Testament as: "a hero, a warrior," "son of wickedness"… "son of death" "son of a bow" an arrow, "son of Belial" a wicked [1093] man… History shows that in 1947 at the end of the first stage of Jack Parson's Babalon Working, Israel became a nation. Additionally the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered and the Modern Age of UFO's began with the Kenneth Arnold sightings over Washington (water mound) in early 1947, followed not long after by the alleged saucer crash in Roswell, New Mexico July 1947. Parsons wrote Crowley, "I have diligently followed the VIIIth Degree instructions as [a] creation of new orders of beings with [1094] consecrated talismanic images." Parsons was dedicated to research in two fields that were not mutually exclusive, ritual magic, and space travel. Both occupations were towards the same end--to bring about the new age under a superhuman called "antichrist." It would seem that acknowledged genius Jack Parsons knew the space program of JPL and NASA would be means to accomplish the same goal as magic. Both activities would result in communication with the former "gods."
