Cydonia: Introduction

Cydonia — Introduction

The greatest minds of antiquity believed that gnosis or "knowing" was the foundation of all religion. According to the ancient philosophers, knowledge was only attainable through the inspiration of heavenly powers. Their writings state that mankind's first knowledge had descended from the heavens. The ancient mystery religions also preserved a legend: When heaven and earth joined together, gods descended to earth. The gods possessed the knowledge of the universe: the whole continuum of what can be known. They bestowed on men the art of civilization: government, agriculture and science, inventions that we in modern times hold to be human achievements. All science and learning was developed in the time when gods and man dwelt together. But the gods were said to have also lived on earth in the time before man. Ancient historians chronicled the rule of intelligent pre-humans on earth for millions of years. The gods existed from the formation of the solar system and traveled between its worlds. Their planetary civilization was unparalleled, their edifices and cities were magnificent. Then, at some point in the dim past the realm of the gods was destroyed by a horrific cataclysm. Evidence of this civilization was not completely erased. The most extensive remains of the once great cities of the solar system were frozen in time on a decimated planet in the 4th orbit from the sun… Mars. Modern space probes, Pioneer, Viking and recently the Mars Odyssey have sent images of Mars back to earth that reveal artificial structures on its surface. The images from the Martian region known as Cydonia are the most intriguing. Giant pyramids, a massive human like face and even remnants of the foundations of a city arranged according to a geometric plan are seen in this region. Modern researchers cite this discovery as proof of the existence of intelligent extraterrestrial life. However pictures can lie, sun angles may create illusions; geologic anomalies unknown on earth may exist on Mars. Proving conclusively that these structures are artificial with satellite imagery may never become a reality. Advocates of the argument for the artificiality of the Cydonian monuments admit the debate will not end until man sets foot on Mars. But there is an alternative solution. The key to understanding the monuments of Cydonia remains on earth in the symbols given to men by the gods. After the destruction of their kingdom the heavenly messengers did not die. They continued interaction with mankind and helped to shape the course of history. This communication intensified during the period of several earth cataclysms. Knowledge lost after each destructive episode was subsequently resurrected with the help of the gods. Through time the symbols have endured, preserved in earth's megalithic monuments and in systems of time and measurement, "hidden in plain sight." They have been incorporated into the dogma of alchemy, Gnosticism, theurgy, philosophy and religion and used in modern society as emblems of trade, war and nationality. The illiterate man cannot understand the meaning of letters, even if he encounters them every day, year after year. The meaning of letters must be taught; their use in words must be explained. Only through instruction can one use writing to communicate. The same is true of the myth and symbols of the ancient mystery religions and the monuments of Cydonia. These symbols demonstrate earth's orientation in heaven, its appointed times and seasons and especially the incredible destiny of mankind. Mars preserves the evidence of an ancient kingdom hidden from our modern age. The symbols of the mysteries lead back to Mars. Symbols of the ancient mysteries are found in nearly every religion on earth. They are also inextricably linked to the ancient texts of the Bible. In Genesis chapter 3 the first knowledge was given to human beings in the form of a fruit. The fruit of the tree of knowledge is considered the foremost symbol of gnosis according to the mystery schools. It unravels the secrets of the monuments of Cydonia. The ancients believed that remnants of this symbolic fruit remained on earth. The heroes of legend sought the golden fruit. Mention of it occurs in the epics of Greece and Rome. In the Age of Enlightenment painters depicted it in the Garden of Eden as a quince, a fruit coined by the Gnostics with the scientific name: Pyrus Cydonia. Pyrus Cydonia is once again within the reach of man. The existence of an ancient civilization on Mars will be proven in the near future. This revelation will be a type of Rosetta stone- aiding in the decipherment of history. Cydonia is the lost word of knowledge of the illumined, the philosopher stone of the alchemist and the ultimate achievement of the scientific age. However questions remain, why was the civilization of the gods destroyed? Why has the earth endured cyclic destruction? Why would a superior extraterrestrial race concern itself so intimately with men? Is there a conflict in the realm of heaven in which humanity unwittingly plays a role? For thousands of years the gods have prepared for this time in history. But the truth will be established before the counterfeit revelation takes hold of the entire earth. The story is told in this book.
