The Gate of the Game Player
Keynote
The transitoriness of power and influence.
Collective Perspective
The potential to know what is, and is not, worth fighting for guided by strategy and authority. Driven by the fear of death, the need to take risks to feel more alive and to discover whether life has value or meaning, and what brings purpose to one’s existence.
Without Gate 38, one may yield to pressure and go from one thing to the next in search of that meaning, losing oneself in unnecessary struggles leading to exhaustion.
Personal Perspective
In Gate 28, we find the potential to know what is and is not worth fighting for. You are always ready to take a risk to find meaning in life. Driven by the fear of death, you need to take risks to feel more alive.
This is about finding a purpose in life, and to go from one thing to the next in search of meaning. As long as you are guided by your strategy and authority, you will fight for the right thing.
The 28th gate is about the fear of death. It is about whether life has value, and the only thing that is of value to an individual is knowing. If you have a child who has strong individual activation, you have to recognize that knowing is the most important thing for them, and yet at the same time that they will not listen to you, especially if you tell them what you think they need to know. They have to be invited, to be tricked into knowing.
